Molino
Otura
On the outskirts of Otura stands a family house with 5,100m2 of land
and a history dating back centuries, first as a mill with the mill race
from about the 15th century still standing and then as a tobacco drying
facility; Molino Otura is a rare example of the history of Granada.
The house has four bedrooms, one on the ground floor and three on
the first floor, the master having an en-suite. There is also a further
bathroom on the first floor and on the ground floor there is a further
bathroom and a sauna. On entering the house there is a large reception
room to the left which leads to the sauna and then onto a large utility
room for water treatment for the water from the very rare domesic well
in the area, and to the right to the downstairs bedroom. There is a
large salon with access to a very large garden with a pool. On the
first floor there is a large kitchen/diner, antoher salon, a dining
room, the three bedrooms and a utility room. The house is heated
using a bio-mass heater utilising olive-pip pellets. The land is
watered both by an acequia and by drip irrigation, again from a
private well. There is a large original oven to the front of the
house and above that a mirador with views to the snow-capped Sierra
Nevada. The 15c Arab-built wall and mill-race run to the mirador
and form the limit of the property. It is expected that the
surrounding land will be made urbanisable in a few years time
which will greatly add to the value of the property. All in
all a great buy in a very nice area.
