Casa del Lino

Nigüelas

A perfect example of a 16th century mansion, fully restored in 2008, in the heart of Niguelas, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada and abutting the Sierrra Nevada National Park. Licenced as a Casa Rural or small hotel, it also has a licence to operate as a bar. It is a very rare example of this type of house and has been restored with many of the original features remaining. There are eight bedrooms, all en-suite, a large internal patio on the ground floor which can be used as a bar or restaurant, making use of the large kitchen to one side. There are separate quarters for the owners and a large terrace with views across the village to the mountains beyond. On the ground floor are the reception, the open patio, the kitchen, the dining room, two bedrooms and access to a cellar which has been prepared for a sauna or Turkish bath. Outside there is a small courtyard which could have a small plunge pool added and alongside a plot of ground which has permission to build a further three-storey house. On the first floor there is a gallery from which the remainder of the bedrooms and the owners quarters can be accessed. The roof terrace is 200m2 and has views to the mountains. The house is centrally heated using bio-mass olive-pip pellets and the hot water is solar powered from eight latge panels on the roof. Much of the fittings are original as is some of the furniture which can be purchased separately.

Price: 825,000 euros, negotiable.
