Cortijo Azul
Melegis
On the edge of the village, next to the river Torrente, with views across
its own orange groves to the Lake of Beznar, Cortijo Azul is 3,500 square
metres of land with two cortijos standing on it. It even has a swimming pool.
The cortijos have electricity and water connected and are of sufficient antiquity
to be considered to have probity. They could be restored and possibly extended,
subject to planning permission. Cortijo one is recognised as being a habitation.
It has a kitchen/sitting room with a fireplace and a sink, a double bedroom
and a bathroom. Above is a terrace with terrific views to the south over its
own orange grove and the Lake of Beznar. It has a large covered terrace for
al-fresco eating and a six metre by four swimming pool. The second cortijo
is at present an animal pen. The previous owner was a farrier who evidently
was hounded by the local veterinary college because of his extensive knowledge
of animal husbandry and homeopathic cures, and his tools are still lying around
this cortijo. There is parking for about six cars, and apart from the orange
trees, there are many vines and some plum trees.
