Casas Larga and Larguita
Melegis
It isn´t often that I am dissatisfied with
my lot, but the fact that I don´t have the necessary money to buy
Casas Larga and Larguita does give me a little twinge of regret. I know
the houses well, having looked after the rentals there for the last five
years, and know that houses like this don´t come on the market very
often. The owners have spent ten years improving the houses and now feel
it is time to take on another project and they are selling the houses to
fund it. The two houses are entered through double doors which lead to an
entrance patio with an inner courtyard beyond. Casa Larga is to the left
of the entrance patio, has four bedrooms and sleeps seven in two doubles,
one single room and another room with twin bunk beds. The double bedrooms
have en-suite bathrooms and the other two rooms share a bathroom. Downstairs
it has an entrance hall, a dining room, a salon leading to the kitchen and
a large main salon with an open fireplace. From here you can access the
large garden, a rarity in the villages. It has a kidney-shaped swimming
pool, a built-in barbecue, orange and tangerine trees and a herb garden.
On the roof there is a terrace with views across the valley and to the snow-capped
Sierra Nevada mountains. Casa Larguita is entered to the right of the entrance
patio and sleeps six in a double, a twin and twin bunk-beds. The double
room has an en-suite bathroom and a patio and the other two bedrooms share
a bathroom. Downstairs are two salons, one to the front of the house and
one to the rear. Both have wood-burning stoves and between them is the very
well fitted out kitchen. There is also a utility room and a large patio
to the rear with doors which can be opened to access the garden and pool
of Casa Larga. The properties rent well, either separately or jointly, when
they share the garden and pool.
